Who Built This, and Why
GST Tax Calculator India is built and maintained by WebDeb. It started because so many GST calculators online were outdated, cluttered, or got the CGST/SGST/IGST split wrong - so we built one that didn't.
When the Goods and Services Tax was implemented on July 1, 2017, there was a real gap between how complex the tax rules were and how poor most of the calculators built to handle them were. This site started as an attempt to close that gap with one thing done well: an accurate calculator, kept current, explained in plain language.
I'm not a chartered accountant, and nothing on this site is a substitute for professional tax advice. Every rate, rule, and example here is checked directly against primary sources - the CGST Act 2017, IGST Act 2017, official GST Council notifications, and CBIC circulars - and updated whenever the GST Council changes something, like the September 2025 GST 2.0 rate rationalization. Where a topic is genuinely complex - multi-state transactions, reverse charge, sector-specific exemptions - the content says so plainly and points you to a qualified GST practitioner instead of guessing.
